The National Council of the Boy Scouts of America supports more than 300 local councils that provide quality youth programs, including Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and Venturing.
MCCS is represented on the National BSA Religious Relationships Committee and advises the National Council and local councils in matters related to Churches of Christ. MCCS supports chaplaincy ministries in units, council events, summer camps, and sponsors chaplains at National Boy Scout Jamborees and Philmont Scout Ranch.

American Heritage Girls Organization is a scouting program for girls that supports the traditional values of God, Family and Country. AHG's programming promotes the Judeo-Christian values upon which our country was founded and strives to enhance the girls life experiences with fun filled activities supervised by trained adults, supported by family members and implemented by members. AHG's programming provides life skills, leadership skills and character building through a traditional troop setting.

The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. This is achieved by involving them throughout their formative years in a non-formal educational process, using a specific method that makes each individual the principal agent of his or her development as a self-reliant, supportive, responsible and committed person and assisting them to establish a value system based upon spiritual, social and personal principles as expressed in the Promise and Law.

Serving as the only national volunteer training center for the Boy Scouts of America since 1950, the Philmont Training Center (PTC) provides a unique environment for the training of volunteer and professional leaders. Each year, more than 6,000 Scouters and family members attend PTC.
Each conference features the latest tools and techniques, audiovisuals, discussions, idea sharing, and activities led by a faculty of experienced Scouters. Invitation to these conferences is upon recommendation of the local council or a national committee.
Since 1994, MCCS has participated in and will continue to be a part of the Relationships Week at Philmont on every even numbered years.
